Shiny and Bright Nails with KBShimmer, Cupcake, and Pahlish

Hello all! Today I’m blogging from sunny Hawaii! I am the happiest clam to be on vacation this week, but with flying out here on Thursday across six time zones and the excitement of actually being here, I miiiight have forgotten to blog on Friday. Oops. Forgive me? I promise to remember for the rest of this week!

A few weeks ago, I broke the middle nail on my swatching hand all the way down to the quick. You can see in these pictures that it’s still pretty short and funny-shaped, even after weeks of growing out (good thing I had a bit of a backlog of swatches to go through!). So, while it is still short, I decided to try out some nail art looks with a few of my untrieds.

This look is a base of the white creme “That Base” from the now-defunct B Squared Lacquer. I bought this a while back as a base for gradients and other nail art, and have yet to use it much. I used two coats for opacity here (on all my nails, not just the middle two). Over that, I used two coats of KBShimmer “R-E-F-L-E-C-T” for silver flakie goodness on my pointer and pinkie. On my short middle nail, I stamped using Cupcake Polish “Et Tu, Brute” (a blue holo from the August A Box, Indied) and Bundle Monster BM-XL22 stamping plate. On my ring finger nail, I used the same plate and Pahlish “Man’s Red Flower” (a peachy neon holo) to stamp.

Enjoy! Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions!  Or if you’re also on vacation. Or if you have Hawaii suggestions!
