My newest obsession is flakies. They’re easier to remove than glitter and their effect is so cool. Flakies should get all the attention. This flaky is Color Club’s “The Uptown”. Not to be confused with “Uptown Girl”, which is a different color entirely. “The Uptown” is a sheerish purple jelly with red-green douchrome flakes of different sizes. It takes out three coats to be properly opaque, so for these pictures, I’ve layered one coat of “The Uptown” over one coat of Julep “Octavia”, a darker blue-purple.
Ugh, I love how it looks in the tepid winter sun. Look at the color variation in the bottle on the photo above! Inside, the gold/orange/red tones come out even more.
Luckily, if you need this polish as much as I do, it is easy to get ahold of! You can buy it at Color Club’s website, or at any number of stockists, including Llarowe (where I bought it). Plus, Color CLub runs right around the $8 price range, so they’re easily justifiable!
